We used this on a few occasions after purchasing. Unfortunately it did not "self inflate" after 10 minutes as the literature suggested. We actually had to assist it in filling properly by blowing into the tubes. It did eventually fill out. It was not as comfortable as we expected, however, for being 1.5 inches of foam I imagine that is about how it is. for working outside, it did well. We did a little campout in the yard with the kids so they could watch the stars and it was just a lovely evening anyways. I would say for outdoor use it definitely fits the bill, it is well constructed, sturdy, I don't see it having any issues with tearing like normal air mattresses. If you assist it in inflating a bit I think rocks would be undetectable, again we used it in the yard, but we didn't really feel the yard or anything in it where we had placed it. Inside however it was lacking, we attempted to use it for a sleepover for the children and it was hard and uncomfortable on the floor. The pillows on the top do not inflate as depicted, or at least they did not in our case. Another issue we found was rolling it back up. In a camping environment we really had to battle with it a bit to get it to roll up properly. We could not get it back down the the original size, but we did get it quite close. It is fairly light weight on the back, I didn't really notice much when I had it attached to my traveling bag. Overall I would suggest it in place of an air mattress purely due to the durability of the item.I hope you enjoy the product, hopefully it'll work better for you guys than it did for me. :)Received this, spread it on the floor and opened the valves. About 12 mins later, I noticed the foam inside had swelled some but it def helps to close one valve and deliver some breaths to the other to get this thing truly ready for camping "action".Deflating this thing is definitely a pain. You have to approach it like making a really tight cinnamon bun, starting at the pillow side and micro folding into itself all the way down. You end up on top of it with all of your weight and then have to quickly close off the valves without sacrificing any of the breath labor from earlier. For real this mattress would be 100x better if it had dual one way valves like other air mattresses. Would def relieve the deflate effort. Also I realized that there was a tear in the bottom that was leaking which I just sealed off with some tough tape. This is no fault of the manufacturer though, prob the evil rock which lay dormant at the bottom of my tent. Not a bad bed pad, just wish it had a little more support and held air in a little tighter.. if they would have added an option to add air via blowing into it or an air pump to increase stiffness, that would be awesome. Most of the time I use this when sleeping In the back of my car.. when it’s just me I fold it in half and sleep on it for extra support, which helps a lot. But it’s not as nice with a partner. I usually throw down extra blankets on top of it, and add a sleeping bag over top to help. The material seems strong though and I haven’t had it leak yet..My opinion is, I think it’s a little too expensive for the support it provides.I would have given it 5 stars but the nylon bag the matt is held in broke on the first trip. It was nearly impossible to roll it up small enough to get it in that flimsy bag. Thus, the bag ripped down the seem. I'll probably start storing it in a garbage bag.Other than that though, the pad is great and super easy to use. It inflates on its own which is wonderful! And it stayed inflated all night which is another plus. Also, it is enough space for two people to sleep on.Seems made well and interesting idea. However, the only way you could get enough air out of it to be able to fit it in the storage bag provided is to have 12 hands. Very frustrating. Also, I am not convinced it ever truly inflated all the way. I suggest you get one with a foot pump.I camp multiple times a year and wanted to get a double sleeping pad and sleeping bag since I can take my little one with me. This pad has a good thickness and inflates really well and fast. I'm giving a low rating because deflating it is really a pain in the butt and the bag to hold it was already defective. I'm glad I tested it at home before being out in the wilderness. The pad had a tear, but I was able to patch it with the patch kit they provide. The bag they provide is flimsy, the spring in the clip to tighten it was already broken when I finally was able to fit the pad in there. I'll probably just use compression straps to keep the pad rolled up.Durable material. Easy inflation and deflation. Although it worked fine since I am on the lighter side, and inch more padding would have made it better.I really liked this camping pad at first. It is comfortable and easy to use, though it does take quite a few breaths to get it firm. However, I am very disappointed in durability. The pad worked fine in the house, and for the 1st week of a cross-country trip. However, by the second week of use, the pad started a slow leak that got worse the next night. SO, after only 7 uses inside a tent, the pad leaked all of the air out within 2 hours. I tried but could not find the leak, so the pad was now essentially useless. Given that we were on the other side of the country, with limited space, the pad was now trash.I currently have several different types of pads that are still functional and more durable than this one. In fact the cheap Coleman queen air mattress hold up better than this pad.So, if you are using this indoors it may work for you. However, this id NOT a reliable or durable camping pad, even inside a tent!
